Rules of Engagement
Readers, I have heavy writing commitments this year and may be slow to respond to your emails and letters. Please be patient. Be sure to check out the FAQs page if you are writing with any questions about writing, research, errors, or the like. It's quite possible that the answer you're looking for is there. Please don't send any attachments unless you are submitting work for the Readers' Gallery (submission instructions below).
You may get a message asking you to send your email again - this is part of my spam filtering process and quite normal. Remember I get a lot of email and can't enter into extended conversations, much as I might like to. My reply may come to you from a hotmail address.
Please don't ask me to critique your work. Lack of time means I am not able to give you personal feedback on your writing.
Please follow the rules if you want to see your work in the Gallery!
Any fantasy art is okay - it can be something to do with my books, but I am happy to accept general fantasy art. It must be all your own work - no copies of existing covers or other people's stuff. Please save your work at a reasonably high resolution (200-300 dpi) as a .jpg file. A useful size for me is approximately 500X500 pixels - depends on the proportions of your painting or drawing. Please don't send me enormous files. It's good if you tell us what media you used for your piece. (Note: I am no longer accepting poetry or short fiction for the Gallery.)
How to submit:
Attach your work to an email - put Gallery in the title line. Send it to firstname.lastname@example.org. The body of the email should include, as a minimum, your name as you want it shown in the Gallery, where you come from, and the title of your work. People usually go by names like 'Liz from Toronto' but you can use your full name or a pseudonym if you want. If I get any emails that are blank apart from the attachment, I will delete them without opening the attachment, as this is a common way for viruses to be transmitted.
The final decision on what goes up on the site is mine, and no correspondence will be entered into. If I think your work is suitable for the site, it will be posted. This is non-competitive, but I will expect work to be of a reasonable standard. If you are under 15, please let me know.
By submitting a piece, you are confirming that it is your own original work, and you are giving your permission for it to be posted on this site.
All rights queries / business queries should go to my agent, Russell Galen, at the Scovil Galen Ghosh Literary Agency http://www.sgglit.com/
