June 27: Work in Progress updated today.

June 21: The Gallery has been updated today - thanks, people, for your contributions. I have moved three pieces to the Classics page. When the new website is released, book covers and gallery art will be displayed in a slide show format.

Update on the David Gemmell Legend Award: the winning book was Blood of Elves by Andrzej Sapkowski. Congratulations to everyone involved. It sounds as if the presentation night was great fun for all.

June 18: At the urging of readers, I've added a Heart's Blood page featuring the beautiful cover for the Australian edition, based on a painting by J W Waterhouse.

Click here to view a book trailer for Arthurian anthology The Road to Camelot, in which I have a story. The trailer was created by editor Sophie Masson. First published in 2002, it has just been re-released with a new cover (left). The collection contains stories by fourteen well-known fantasy writers, each featuring one of the characters of the Arthurian legend when he or she was a young adult. Readers located outside Australia can purchase this anthology from any Australian online bookseller.

Website Redesign: This website is currently having a complete professional redesign - we hope to launch the new version in early September. Expect to see lots of new features plus a much more user-friendly layout. There will be a news feed, which will take the place of this page and the Work in Progress page.

Latest Health Update (June 18):
By now most of my readers know that I was diagnosed with breast cancer in early March. I've had surgery and am now about halfway through a 12 week course of chemotherapy, which will be followed by radiotherapy and drug treatment. If all goes to schedule I should finish radiotherapy some time in September. I'm feeling reasonably well, but progress on the current project, Song of the Island has been slowed by the treatment.

I'm happy to receive messages of support during this period, but only positive messages. Cheer me up, make me laugh, talk books and writing, tell me survival stories or provide practical advice. No expressions of sorrow, anger or negativity, please. I'm doing my best to meet the challenge in a courageous and practical way, as Liadan or Clodagh might do.
