Apologies for the belated report! I’ve been working really hard to get the manuscript of Warrior Bards Book 3 (provisionally titled A Song of Flight) ready to go off to the publishers later this month. It is all written, but I am still polishing and improving it, because it’s important to make the book as good as I possibly can before I let it go. I’m hoping my editors at the Australian and US publishing houses won’t request too many changes.

Meanwhile, A Dance with Fate (Warrior Bards Book 2) was published by Pan Macmillan Australia in early August, and by Penguin Random House US on September 1. There have been some wonderful reviews, plus great feedback from readers on my Facebook author page. A Dance with Fate is currently available in print and ebook editions, as well as two audiobook editions.

Mother Thorn, my little book of fairy tale retellings illustrated by Kathleen Jennings, is now going into the production stage – Kathleen’s gorgeous art work is all done, the text is conplete, and now everything gets put together and sent off to the printer. This book will be published by Serenity Press in November, and I will post a link when it’s available for pre-order. The best way to purchase Mother Thorn, whose full title is Mother Thorn and Other Tales of Courage and Kindness, will be through the Serenity Press website or through Australian online bookseller Booktopia. Mother Thorn is not for small children, but would suit readers from about 12+, and also older readers who love fairy tales.

This year has been a sad one for me personally. In January I lost little Fergal, frailest of my rescue dogs, at the age of only 9 after a very sudden decline in his health. In June Pippa, my tiny old dog, passed away from age-related illness. So now I have only one dog left, Reggie, who is fifteen, completely deaf and starting to lose his vision. Reggie is a sweet and loyal boy but is finding the change in his abilities quite confronting. I’m giving him lots of cuddle time plus the walks he loves, and hoping that when his time comes it will be peaceful. I’ll finish this post with a picture of my old boy.
