Here in Perth it’s winter time and bitterly cold by Aussie standards. The temptation to snuggle under the blankets and forget the world outside would be hard to resist even if we weren’t in partial lockdown. Because of the pandemic situation, quite a few events have been cancelled or postponed, including some of mine.

We don’t have new dates for Supanova Perth at this point. The pandemic situation in New South Wales meant travel restrictions, and it became impossible for the organisers to run the event here in the west. I will advise of any updates, but can’t confirm at this stage whether I will be appearing.

The Rockingham Writers Convention, which was due to take place on July 10, has been rescheduled for Saturday October 2. All being well, I will still present my Fantasy Writing workshop on that day.

Aurealis Awards: the ceremony is taking place on July 8 via Zoom, with limited places available to the general public. Results should start appearing on social media during that evening.

The book launch for A Song of Flight is still scheduled for July 31 at Stefen’s Books, to be followed by lunch at The Generous Squire for those interested. Full details of the event can be found here.  If you can’t attend the launch but would like a signed copy, Stefen can arrange that.

Lastly, progress report on the linen cover edition of Mother Thorn – a saga that seems to have been going on forever. We are still waiting for long-promised copies to arrive from the printer. I gather they are in transit somewhere.
